The Office of Undergraduate Admission is excited to welcome you to Grounds for our annual Virginia Counselor Workshop for college counselors and community-based organization leaders on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Join us for an inside view of the UVA admission process and learn about the resources available to incoming students. View the entire day's schedule below.

Schedule of Events
Check-in will take place from 9:00-10:00am outside of the Newcomb Hall Ballroom. Please join us for a catered breakfast before the event officially begins at 10:00am.
The day will start with a welcome from Greg Roberts, Associate Vice Provost of Enrollment and Undergraduate Admission. Doug Hartog, Director of Admission, will share updates on the office's mission and first year applications.
Learn about the UVA application and selection process directly from deans of admission.
A panel of staff and students will discuss the resources available at UVA to promote diversity and ensure a sense of belonging for all students.
On your registration, you will have the option to note your preference for one of two breakout sessions:
Transfer Pathway Planning: Learn about the multiple ways to transfer to UVA, including our partnership with the Virginia Community College System.
Recommendation Letter Writing Workshop: Learn what admission officers find helpful in counselor and teacher recommendations.
During lunch, a panel of admission deans will answer your questions from the day.
University offices share different ways to access a UVA education, along with the outcomes we see among graduates. Speakers include Student Financial Services and the Jefferson and Walentas Scholars Programs.
