The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) seeks to assist all students as they learn, grow, and develop during their time at U.Va. They provide a multitude of services, including support and outreach to all facets of our diverse community.
Office of African American Affairs
The Office of African American Affairs (OAAA) helps the University provide a sensitive and welcoming environment for African American students. This office oversees a nationally-acclaimed peer adviser program and a student/faculty mentoring program.
Multicultural Student Services
Multicultural Student Services (MSS) aims to promote inclusion and engagement for historically underrepresented students. MSS works to enhance the undergraduate experience through co-curricular programs and culturally relevant services that are meant to empower students in their identity, build community, and help a diverse group of students find their individual and collective voices.
LGBTQ Student Services
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) Center at the University of Virginia seeks to foster the development of LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, alumni, and allies. The Center is both a welcoming physical space and a programming center.
Latinx Student Center
The Center aims to provide an inclusive environment that supports the intersectional experiences, diverse cultures, and educational goals of Latinx students at the University of Virginia.
Interfaith Student Center
The mission of the Interfaith Space is to create a welcoming, comfortable, and safe space where students of diverse backgrounds and beliefs can practice their own faith and mindfulness and learn about those of others.
Asian/ Asian Pacific American Student Services and Programs
This office seeks to provide support, assistance and advocacy to all Asian and Asian Pacific American Students through a peer advising program, Awareness Week, Heritage Month, a leadership training institute, and several cultural organizations.
Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) provides leadership, information, consultation, coordination, and assistance to the University in an effort to embrace diversity and equity as pillars of excellence, synergize actions at all levels of the institution, and cultivate inclusiveness and mutual respect throughout the community.
